Hi, I’m Buzz from Gossip Sugar Films. We are producing “Ningyo no Ie” (The Mermaid’s House), the newest film in “Virgin Kiss,” our short film series about love between women and the decisions it demands. To complete this film, we need your support.

What is Virgin Kiss?

“Virgin Kiss” is a short drama series built around a “kiss” between women — and the decisions forced at life’s crossroads. Every episode ends on a moment of decision, and leaves you asking yourself: “What would I have done?” It is a series that plants a question in everyone who watches.

The channel launched as a sub-channel of “Gossip Sugar,” an original short-drama series about the hidden side of the entertainment world that has passed 50 million total views and keeps expanding beyond YouTube, including a collaboration with Kodansha’s “Young Magazine.” With “Virgin Kiss,” we explore what lies deeper in human emotion, from a different angle than Gossip Sugar.

The New Film: “Ningyo no Ie” (The Mermaid’s House)

“Ningyo no Ie” is the story of a love triangle between three girls, set off by a single summer reunion.

Summer break, final year of high school. Asahi, unsure about her future, visits her hometown by the sea for the first time in seven years. Waiting for her are her best friend Chihiro — and another childhood friend, Mio. She remembers Chihiro clearly. But somehow, she cannot remember Mio at all.

Asahi ends up spending the last three days of summer at Mio’s house. Late one night, Mio leans over the sleeping Asahi and kisses her. Chihiro, lying right beside them, sees it — and is shaken. Because she had only just told Asahi that the one she loves is Mio.

Chihiro loves Mio. Yet Mio kisses Asahi. And Asahi, in truth, has feelings for Chihiro. What ending waits at the far side of a triangle where no love points the same way…?
