"Kaimaku Ten Million": four performances in Urayasu this June
Five million yen stolen. Six suspects.
The only place to witness how it ends is a seat in the theater.
Tickets for "Kaimaku Ten Million" are now on sale.
A three-episode drama streaming on YouTube and a stage performance in a theater connect into a single story. The ending of the case you followed on screen is revealed on the stage in front of you. That structure is the core of this production.
The play is Kenji Miyazawa's "Night on the Galactic Railroad," performed with live piano by Ryo Gojoin (who plays Honoka Shiratori). For an audience that has learned the characters' secrets through the drama, the lines on stage should take on a second meaning.
The venue is J:COM Urayasu Music Hall, a 303-seat concert hall. The drama was shot, and the play is performed, in the same town of Urayasu. The town on screen and the town outside the theater are the same place. Here, the distance between fiction and reality is almost nothing.
Four performances over two days, Thursday, June 25 and Friday, June 26: a matinee at 1 PM and an evening show at 7 PM.
These seven take the stage.
The people who were all suspects in the drama perform Miyazawa's story on the same stage. Who is hiding what? The first to know the answer are the people sitting in those 303 seats.
